About us:

Vale CC was established in 2004 following a merger with Southerndown and Ewenny & Corntown Cricket Clubs. Southerndown Cricket Club can trace its history back to at least 1870. Ewenny & Corntown Cricket Club was formed in 1988 although cricket in Ewenny has a history of more than 100 years. In 1992 Mr Picton-Tuberville granted a 50-year lease on the present ground and the work to establish a cricket facility with pavilion was completed in 1996.

Vale Cricket Club, now based in Corntown South Wales, provides facilities for juniors, senior and women and girls to play cricket. It also provides a venue for the local community to use for events and functions. The club has an active junior section (100 junior cricketers 5-17 - girls and boys) 45 senior members and a squad of 15-20 women and girls who play softball cricket. The club has a volunteer base of over 20 administrators and junior coaches.

We are an ambitious, family friendly cricket club located just outside Corntown in the Vale of Glamorgan.  Our vision is to be recognised as a first class amateur cricket club in the Vale of Glamorgan  and we aim to attract and retain sporting talent from the local community. Over the past 18 months the club has changed its entity from a members club to a Community Benefit Society with charitable status. This was achieved with the help of the Wales Co-operative Centre and is part of the club’s strategy to purchase our ground and test the feasibility of building an indoor cricket/community facility.  The club has seen considerable growth in membership and now fields three Saturday senior teams, a mid-week T20 side and our Women & Girl’s compete in a Cricket Wales softball league. We offer cricket for girls and boys from 5 through to 17 and are an ECB Centre for All Stars (Girls and boys 5-7) and Dynamos (Girls softball 8-11). We also offer hard ball cricket for mixed junior teams at U9, 11, 13, 15 and 19.

The club has a live community share offer in place to raise funds to purchase our ground in 2021. The club is also in discussion with the local community and funders to test the feasibility of building an indoor cricket/community facility. More details can be found on our website www.valecc.co.uk

Why Sponsor Us?

Vale CC is not just a top class cricket club, but we are looking to make a difference to our small patch of Wales. Our objective is simple: to provide first class sports and recreational facilities for the local community as detailed in our live community share offer.

The benefits to companies of supporting local sports clubs and community groups are now widely recognised, as recognised by "Businesses in the Community" :

- 81% of consumers agree that they are more likely to buy a product that is associated with a cause they care about, price and quality being equal.

- 86% of consumers have a more positive image of a company they see doing something to make the world a better place.

- 74% of consumers think that it is acceptable for Companies to involve a charity or good cause in their marketing

- 67% of consumers agree that Cause Related Marketing should be a standard part of a company's activities

By choosing a cause you are passionate about and not just another sports club, and hopefully Vale CC fits that bill, we hope we can develop long and lasting relationships that enable us to push on with our lofty aspirations for club and push business and leads to you. We completely understand the commercial aspect of lead development for you as a sponsor and have a small team established within the club to help you and your organisation with that.
