About us:
Why Sponsor Us?
Leighton Buzzard Rugby Football Club is a community rugby club with over 100 regular senior players which allows us to field three senior sides and an occasional veterans team. The club was founded in 1934 by people with a passion to play rugby. Our strong membership of young, old and ex-players continue to play and support us with passion to this day.
Today:
Our First XV currently are current champions of the Midlands Intermediate Cup Final and were voted Rugby World Magazine's 'Team of the Year 2020'. From September 2020 they will be joining London 1 North. Our Second XV were winners of the Banana Bread Merit Table. We have exceptional coaches working with our senior sides to see them develop and progress year on year.
We have a senior and junior academy covering boys from under 13 to under 18. They play and train in a structured programme with RFU qualified coaches aiming to allow all the players to fulfil their potential and play at the highest level they can. These are our future first team players and show real promise in their abilities.
Our minis section is the biggest for three counties. We have over 300 players enjoying the game and learning the core rugby values every Sunday morning. Our minis section starts with Fledglings who are aged 5, both girls and boys, and progress through to the under 13s. We also offer Women's touch rugby every Tuesday evening.
What we offer:
Sponsoring Leighton Buzzard RFC is a great way to promote your company within Leighton Buzzard and surrounding areas. During the season we host 20 fixtures plus tours, training, festivals. Year round our site is used by the local community and the venue is hired out so our sponsors adverts and logos are seen by on average 10,000 people.
We are able to offer a variety of cost effective sponsorship opportunities for local businesses to promote their business and increase their market share. We are happy to discuss bespoke sponsorship packages to suit your company's specific requirements.
On behalf of the players, their coaches and the club, I would like to thank you for taking the time to consider working with us to support our rugby club and promoting rugby for the whole community.
History:
Leighton Buzzard Rugby Football Club was formed on Wednesday 27th June 1934 at a meeting held at the Unionist (Conservative) Club. The thirty-three 'Foundation Members' included Freddy Fairbrother, the headmaster of Ceddars Upper School. This school was to play a major part in the development of LBRFC and it provided the backbone of Club's players for the rest of the century in the absence of a Grammar school.
During WW2 the club was disbanded and only reformed in 1949. Geoff Wright used his drive and expertise to guide the club to having a home ground which it owned and had purpose built facilities that we now call "Wright's Meadow". From there LBRFC has gone from strength to strength. Join us on our rise!
