Core Values

Braves Sporting Club is founded upon on a set of progressive values and aspirational ideals which are designed to benefit everyone involved with the team. This is evident in the outstanding progress the club has witnessed over the 2020 - 2021 season, both on and off the pitch. Improving results are inseparable from the personal and social development of the individual players and the team as a whole. This success stems from the implementation of our core values, which teach children how to create a positive future for themselves, their families and their community.

Diversity

We are privileged to be located in one of the country's most diverse communities. Our club is a true reflection of a belief in the great things that can happen when people from all walks of life work together for the benefit of local children.

Togetherness

We teach children that sharing individual skills and working as a team leads to collective success far beyond that which could be achieved alone.

Decency

Fair play is a thread that runs through all training and games; we want our children to learn that they can win by treating others with kindness and respect.

Aspirations

We want to continue to grow on the success of our current squad by adding more youth and adult teams allowing more of the community to get involved in the club.

History

The Camberwell FC first team endured a challenging inaugural season in 2018-2019, in which the players strove to establish themselves as newcomers in the league. Despite this, the young squad retained the drive and ambition to continue to improve in the face of adverse results. After the former club owners made the decision to withdraw from the Selkent league at the end of the 2019 - 2020 season, team Trainer Ed Gomez renewed his commitment to the club in order to build on the momentum and unique spirit developing within the squad. Thanks to the dedicated support of an amazing group of parents, guardians and friends, Braves Sporting Club was formed to continue the club’s efforts into the 2020-2021 season.

Braves Sporting Club is a non-profit organisation, and also a Community Interest Company registered with Companies House and with the FA. This means that any proceeds are re-invested into the club, to develop the platform and better support the children for whom it exists.

Focussed on a busy sporting programme the children play weekly football in the SELKENT League and also train together on weekdays in preparation for upcoming games.

Braves Sporting Club is defined by its people: a fantastic group of players and parents from diverse backgrounds, united in their unwavering support for the club and the belief that sport can be a positive force in bringing a community together.
