About us:

Waresley Cricket Club

Hello and welcome to the official SNAP Sponsorship profile of Waresley Cricket Club.

We're delighted to announce that we’ve now partnered with SNAP Sponsorship and we’re looking for sponsors who are excited about affiliating themselves with a Huntingdonshire grassroots cricket club with a lengthy history dating back to at least 1869.

We strive to craft a partnership with our sponsors that meets their specific objectives, whether that be community gifting, social responsibility (CSR), direct sales or brand building.

We’ll work with you to develop a partnership which meets both your objectives and adds value to our members — supporting our club’s ongoing work in the community to remove barriers and make sport enjoyable, accessible and sustainable for all.

Whatever your motivation, find out more below. Thank you for visiting our profile.

Why Sponsor Us?

Strong social media following and increased brand exposure for your business

We’re rapidly increasing our social media following with around 2k followers on our Facebook and Twitter accounts alone and some of our posts have received more than 1000 hits. We’ve now extended to Instagram and also receive a large number of visits to our website too.

Our diverse playing and social membership ranges from ages 5 to 85 offering increased opportunities for sponsors due to our large, varied audience with many interests.

Exclusive networking opportunities with our players and loyal membership

The club is situated in beautiful parkland, a lovely setting for players and spectators alike. The ground, pavilion and practice facilities are available for hire which creates exposure and brand awareness opportunities which will be seen across numerous events and activities via the club.

We’re also happy to host small, exclusive sponsored events in our clubhouse with our players and members, otherwise we regularly hold social events which are open to all.

Remove economic barriers making sport affordable and accessible to all

Sponsorship of a grassroots sport delivers a much higher return on investment than traditional advertising. This is because sponsorship allows your business to become directly involved in activities that are highly valued by local consumers.

Consumers are known to form strong positive associations with sponsors who support the development of grassroots sport and contribute to the local community. With eight out of ten consumers preferring to believe in what a company does rather than what it says, it’s easy to see why many businesses are choosing to sponsor cricket clubs like ours as a way of maximising their marketing return.

By directly supporting us, you’re helping to remove economic barriers — making sport affordable and sustainable for all.

The Club Today

Waresley Cricket Club — one of the leading cricket clubs in Huntingdonshire, is situated two miles north of Gamlingay, sandwiched between Biggleswade in Bedfordshire and St Neots in Huntingdonshire.

Established since at least 1869, we currently have three adult men’s teams. Our 1st XI play on Saturdays in the Cambridgeshire and Huntingdonshire Premier League; our 2nd XI in the Huntingdonshire League and we also have a Sunday team in the Bedfordshire League.

We run five mixed youth teams for boys and girls aged from 9 to 17 and hosted ‘All Stars’ for the 5 to 8-year-olds. Our Friday evening practice sessions attract up to 100 youngsters (plus parents) who create a great social atmosphere and attract much custom at the bar and barbecue! In 2022, we’ve jointly set up an adult women’s team which will fulfil our mission to provide cricket for all and increase our presence in the local community.

History of the Club

The club has been established since at least 1869 and has increased rapidly in membership size over the years. Players have been drawn from the village and surrounding area and friendly matches were the norm until 1970 when we entered the Millman League. Since then, the club has been very successful, winning a number of cups and league titles and expanding to include youth and female teams.

Although now a much bigger enterprise than the founders could possibly have envisaged a century and a half ago, we are still a family friendly and community-based club with the main aim of providing enjoyable cricket for all.

Our aspiration is to continue our commitment to bring people into the game and offer not only physical, but also social opportunities for everyone. We are committed to making both small and large improvements and are constantly working to improve our club facilities which include extending our pavilion, improving our training facilities and further developing our youth and women’s sections.

Naturally, we want to support our sponsors and build them in to our club on a strategic level — allowing all of our partners to benefit from our ever-improving facilities, expanding audience and our community involvement.
