The club was founded in the East End of Glasgow in 1904. The club is open to everyone no matter age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil Organisation, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation or any other such artificial barriers or prejudices.
We are involved in all aspects of athletics from Track and Field, Road Running, Cross Country, Hill Running and Walk to jog.
We have something happening everyday from RunJumpThrow Clubs for 4/5 to 8years old, 8 - 14 Tuesday and Thursday, Walk to Jog Group and other groups meeting almost every day
Some of our more famous members - Dunky Wright, Commonwealth and Empire Games Marathon Champion, Jimmy Flockart, World Cross Country Champion, Joe McGhee Commonwealth Games Marathon Champion. Graham Everett Mile, Norman Foster Pole Vault & Multi events, Lachie Stewart 10000m Gold Medialist, Nat Muir Cross Country & 5000m, Cameron Sharp Sprints, Mark Dry Hammer, Chris Bennett Hammer, Tsegai Tewelde Marathon
Through out our history we have been very much a part of our community, in 2019 we delivered physical activity to 4500 childern from 32 schools. We work closely with Children Charities, Refugee Organisations, Mental Health Charities and NHS to reach our most disavantaged members of our community to help improve their health and wellbeing and give them opportunities through things such as coaching qualifacations and first aid courses.
