About us:

Dyce Rugby Football Club

Established by three locals in 1983, Dyce RFC has provided rugby playing opportunities to many over the years, and seeks to continue do so into the future.

We believe sponsorship of our club will deliver value based on a marketing investment for financial return, boosting your CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) credentials, or for the love of the club.

Whatever your motivation, find out more below. Thank you for visiting our profile.

Why Sponsor Us:

Dyce Rugby Club principally relies on the generosity of local individuals & businesses to provide funding to run as efficiently as possible. Without these contributions the club would not be able to exist in its current form or be able to achieve the goals it has set for itself in the medium to long term.

The club runs as close to a not-for-profit as possible; essentially our commitment is to reinvest our profits into the club, for the good of the community. We aim to have low overheads which means we can scale our annual investment to meet our ambitions. We aim to be self-sufficient each season to provide sustainable conditions for the club to operate well into the future, whilst creating the environment for club growth within the community. We train on a 3G pitch, allowing us to create a more accessible atmosphere for players of all ages and abilities to be the rugby players of tomorrow.

We operate in a geographically confined region in NE Scotland meaning your marketing investment can be focussed to maximise value to your business. Matches in Aberdeen, Inverness, Fraserburgh and other towns across Aberdeenshire mean that your brand will be visible across Grampian market.

The club has a flexible approach to sponsorship, with perks ranging from but are not limited to:

  • logo & link on social media posts and websites pages
  • physical advertisement on club assets
  • opportunities to advertise at club events
  • priority access to SRU tickets through club
  • captive audience of club members for exclusive business promotions
  • invites to club events

Alternative/supplementary perks can be arranged through negotiation dependent on the level of sponsor commitment

Whilst we are a small community club, we are committed to giving you and your company the exposure and promotion you deserve. We recognise that without your support many of our lads would not be enjoying their rugby at the weekend!

Today:

The club still retains the family ethos from the day the club founded and rugby values we all know and love; since the covid enforced playing break in 2020-2021, the committee along with President Nicky Cheyne have been coordinating on and off-pitch development . There is an embedded passion for rugby and dedication to local success in all, taking strides to refresh aspects of the club across the board. The club is moving away from a low income, low spend model towards a more integrated, sustainable model to deliver longer term growth through local partnerships and sponsorships rather than being bankrolled a single wealthy benefactor.

These changes are beginning to take effect, with green shoots of promise showing after doubling down efforts around prioritising rugby activities. Improved financial health, increased participation & new community ties are evidence that the steps the club has taken is beginning to manifest itself in setting the right foundations for future prosperity.

We anticipate that this is just the start of a new beginning, with a bright future ahead.

Aspirations:

On the pitch, the club’s ambition is to build on the progression seen both on and off the pitch into the 2023-24 season. We are aiming for promotion in the coming years and seek to grow both our players and club. Off the pitch, there are aspirations to build upon and foster stronger community links and local partnerships with a view to providing a community centred club for future generations to join, support and enjoy into the future.

History:

Dyce Rugby Football Club
1983 - Present

Dyce RFC has a varied history despite its relatively recent conception. It remains a small, social club serving the local community. Despite a short stint in nearby Westhill, the club has played and is now settled at its home of Central Park, Dyce which sits at the heart of the community. Over the years, past teams have experienced mixed success in the SRU run leagues, one off tournaments and past tours. More recently the club was challenging for promotion in the 2011-12 season and won the Caledonia Bowl final in 2010-11 beating Aberdeenshire 2nd XV 33-17. We unfortunately missed out on promotion in 2018-19, placing second behind league winner’s Peterhead, as well as being runners-up on points difference to Deeside RFC in the 2021-22 season.

Today we play our rugby in the Caledonia North Region League Division 2 ; a regional league in Scottish Rugby’s competition pyramid. We also participate in both national and regional cup competitions.

The club plays its annual Old Boys match as the final pre-season warm up fixture, competing for the Cheyne Memorial Trophy in memory of ex-supporter and social member Mark Cheyne.
