This extensive range of ground is a great benefit to any business, receiving exposure at different venues.
Audience:
We comprise over 100 current adult members and 70 youth members as well as 25-30 children each year attending our All Stars program run in conjunction with the ECB.
Digital:
We have a following of roughly 700 across our social media channels - Facebook and Instagram, which we hope to expand over the coming seasons. Sponsors will benefit from this following through being focused on our website and socials prior to match days, therefore promoting your brand.
Today:
We cater for cricketers of all abilities, and our ranks include a former First-Class cricketer as Head Coach and 1st XI captain, Essex County Senior Players (at over 60 and over 70 age groups) and an Essex County Cricket Club Youth Player (at under 15 level), as well as several district youth players. At the other end of the scale we have a number of players of all ages who play socially from occasionally up to every weekend.
Besides the club’s own teams, Garon Park also hosts county age group cricket, county seniors cricket, Essex 2nd XI and in non-Covid times has hosted both the Netherlands and Denmark national teams. It has also hosted the final of the Essex League Cup, the county’s premier limited overs competition.
Along with the other sporting facilities within the wider ground (3G football pitch, Tennis, grass Football pitches, outdoor Gym etc and even a wedding venue overlooking the pitch!), there is an extremely large footfall through all 12 months of the year.
Aspirations:
We are looking to expand both of our senior and junior sections including partnering with local schools and Garon Park itself which runs a number of programmes for school children particularly those from low-income families. By adding to the number of qualified coaches at the club we are looking to provide accessible and appropriate coaching for young and old players of all abilities.
Our aspirations include growing on social media, as we are aware of the benefits social media can bring to businesses and sports clubs in terms of membership and sponsorship.
We also hope to expand both of our junior and senior sections, and look to partner with local schools.
History:
The club was formed as an amalgamation between Old Southendian Cricket Club and Southchurch Club in 1983 and initially played at Southchurch Park, before moving to Essex County Cricket Club's former First-Class Venue at Garon Park in 2016, it still retains links to Southend High School for Boys but meanwhile welcomes players from all backgrounds.
