About us:
Kidderminster Cricket Club is one of the oldest, largest and most esteemed cricket clubs in Worcestershire. We provide Saturday League cricket for four teams playing in the prestigious Birmingham and District Premier League and Worcestershire County League, and play in the local fun midweek league. We also operate a large junior section which provides coaching and matches for around 100 boys and girls and an Academy, providing transition for older juniors aspiring to adult cricket.
We are a county designated Women’s/Girls Cricket Hub, and with a developing girls’ section, now compete at u11 and u13 and, from 2021, at u9. We also boast a thriving ladies’ softball team and stage annual festivals with around 100 participants, plus spectators.
We deliver the ECB’s annual All Stars programmes to boys and girls aged five to eight and, from 2021, the ECB’s new Dynamos programme for eight to 11-year-olds.
Our junior section also provides coaching assistance for Wicketz Cricket, funded by the Lords Taverners, delivered by Worcestershire County Cricket and, part hosted by KCC, extending our ethos of inclusivity.
We enjoy “Clubmark” status awarded by the ECB, for providing a safe environment for youngsters to learn and enjoy their cricket experience.
In any given season we have close to 100 cricket matches played on our pitches in addition to weekly coaching sessions for Seniors and Juniors.
Our top-quality cricket pitches, outfield and facilities are always in demand from representative teams at County and International level. We are the second ground for Worcestershire County Cricket Club, hosting First Class Cricket when New Road is under water along with regular 2nd Xl and county youth games, plus international cricket tournaments including women’s, disability, and over 50s.
We aim to provide extensive, high quality facilities which are enjoyed by our members, the local community and county representative groups. In the winter our ground is home to the Kidderminster Lions junior football club and our meeting and function rooms are used by many organisations, including 16 local masonic lodges, umpires, cricket league management, football supporters’ associations and charities, as well as many private bookings for a host of celebrations. The clubhouse, with bar, function room and two kitchens, is managed by the Chester Road Sports & Social Club, which has many social members.
The club maintains a well-used website and has developed a highly active social media network including Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, as well as a close relationship with local and regional mainstream media.
