About us:

One of 43 Active Partnerships across England, Northamptonshire Sport is a local charity dedicated to helping the people of Northamptonshire be More Active, More Often. One of our key roles is to draw in additional investment into well being and activity through partnerships with local and national businesses.

What do we do?

  1. We work with local and national partners to reduce inequalities and enable people to enjoy a healthy, active lifestyle. Our work is funded through Sport England Lottery grant and by local and national partners. Northamptonshire Sport is committed to ensuring that sport, physical activity and recreation across Northamptonshire is both safe and inclusive.
  2. We are a strategic, developmental, organisation that seeks to influence the policies, environment, institutions, organisations and individuals within Northamptonshire, thereby creating the conditions for more people to be active. An example is working with the Integrated Care System and Primary Care Networks to create a far greater flow of people into physical activity opportunities though referral pathways and the Social Prescriber network.
  3. We are also a delivery organisation, either co-ordinating a range of partners to deliver or directly delivering ourselves. An example is working with green and blue assets around the county to open them up for physical activity, as we have done already for Open Water Swimming in Country Parks.
