About us:

About Retford FC...

Founded in 2015 Retford Football Club aims to be a welcoming and inclusive sports club where local people of all ages can participate in sport.  Football wise we focus on developing homegrown talent, supporting players from youth levels through to our senior teams.  We are a community team club ran by a team of very dedicated hard working volunteers.

Our goal is to create a sustainable club both on and off the pitch fostering strong community spirit, where everyone players, fans, and volunteers feel valued and involved .  By continuously improving our facilities and working closely with companies and schools we strive to make Retford FC a club that brings continued pride to our town and offers lasting opportunities for all ages, abilities and those with accessibility needs.

As well as a senior First Team, Under 21's, Under 18's, Ladies Team, Veterans and newly formed walking team, our juniors keep going from strength to.  We also support a mental health football team at the club.

We have 412 registered players 110 of which are lionesses .  There are also a lot of other juniors who attend the football drop in sessions and holiday clubs we provide.   Our aim is to be a driving force within the region for youth football and it shows with the success of many of the teams in both boys and girls football.

Last season whilst the first team lost the play off final just missing out on being promoted to the next tier enabling the FA Cup to come to Retford both the Ladies and senior Veterans teams won their leagues along with 4 of the junior teams.  The success of which has fostered negotiations with Retford FC to become a feeder club for local top tier clubs.

On site we also have a bowls club which older members of our community enjoy.

The clubhouse also hosts community events and matchday activities.

Off the pitch we have two key initiatives we want to focus on for the upcoming season

One is sustainability and our goal to become net zero with our “Green Goals” initiative.

As an town feeling the effects of climate change with flooding to many of our rural villages each year, environmental sustainability is very close to our heart and community.

Registering for the United Nations Football for the Goals scheme (we are proud to be the second grassroots club in the country to do so), participating in the FA Green code scheme and Utilia’s Football rebooted scheme are just a few of the initiatives we are taking.   We have a comprehensive sustainability strategy outlining all our initiatives.  If you would like a copy just ask!

The other key initiative is to introduce technologies into the club that can assist in player and coach development and introduce systems that make managing the club easier as we enter our next of growth.  Without these we will struggle to sustain, develop and evolve as a football club and multi sports hub.

Record government funding has been awarded to a power plant in Retford to enable it to become a world-leader for fusion energy, the first in the UK. The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero will invest over £2.5 billion to drive green growth in the region over the next five years.  Fusion uses the same process that powers the sun and stars. Two forms of hydrogen are combined and heated at extreme temperatures, releasing vast amounts of clean energy.  This new technology will create high quality jobs, and boost Retford’s economy across all verticals in this exciting new project.  In addition the largest transport investment in a generation, has just been announced for our region developing a modern, reliable, and integrated transport system across the region.

We believe these iniatives will our offer our sponsors increased brand visabilty and growth opportunities within North Nottinhamshire.

How does SNAP deliver more value to you?

Sponsoring through SNAP provides you with significant value. Being on SNAP gives us access to expert guidance and unique activations. This in turn will maximise your return on objectives, and investment. For over a decade SNAP has supported grassroots, local and regional sports across the UK by facilitating mutually beneficial partnerships between businesses and clubs to benefit companies, communities and the economy. We welcome any opportunity to discuss how we can replicate this success with you.

Why is sponsorship important?

Sponsorship is vital for Retford FC, as a community based, volunteer ran club financial support helps cover operational costs, equipment, travel, and facility maintenances and other expenses as well as enabling us to continue to develop the facilities and opportunities we can offer to the people of North Nottinghamshire.

Unlike professional clubs, Retford FC relies on local businesses and community backing to survive and grow. Sponsorship not only ensures sustainability but also enables the club to invest in youth development, community outreach, improved player welfare and improved faciltiies.

In return, sponsors gain visibility and goodwill within the local area, building stronger community ties. Ultimately, sponsorship fuels the passion and progress of grassroots football, ensuring the club can thrive both on and off the pitch.

The club is run by volunteers who are the backbone of Retford FC, dedicating their time and skills to keep the club running smoothly both on matchdays and behind the scenes.

Additionally, sponsorship fosters a sense of community, linking your company with our network to meet your commercial objectives. By sponsoring us your business will benefit from enhanced brand recognition, giving you the opportunity to connect with our audience and promote your products, services, and experiences. Please refer to our Sponsorship Opportunities for additional details.

What will your investment enable?

Through sponsorship you will support the following objectives:

  1. Continue to offer multiple sporting and social opportunities on and off the pitch to the people of Retford.
  2. Continue with our goals to become sustainable off the pitch.
  3. Our ambition to continue to develop the Football club into a multi sports hub.
