About us:

Old Chelmsfordians (OCs) Cricket Club

Hello and welcome to the official SNAP Sponsorship profile of Old Chelmsfordians (OCs) Cricket Club.

We're delighted to announce that we’ve now partnered with SNAP Sponsorship and we’re looking for sponsors who are excited about affiliating themselves with a successful grassroots cricket club in Chelmsford, Essex. Established in 1950, OCs Cricket Club is one of Chelmsford’s oldest cricket clubs.

We believe sponsorship of our club will deliver value based on a marketing investment for brand profile, financial return, CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) or for the love of the club and sport.

Whatever your motivation, find out more below. Thank you for visiting our profile.

Why Sponsor Us?

OCs Cricket Club principally relies on the generosity of members, local individuals and businesses to provide funding to run as efficiently as possible. Without these contributions the club would not be able to exist in its current form or be able to achieve the goals it has set for itself in the medium to long term.

OCs Cricket Club boasts a growing membership in excess of 200, with a vibrant youth section supplementing a successful senior section, with cricket available for all. We have senior men’s and ladies’ teams, as well as U11, U13 and U15 youth teams. All Stars and Dynamos cater for our youngest members from 4-10 years of age. The club is part of the wider Old Chelmsfordians Association, supporting other sporting disciplines such as tennis, football and table tennis, and boasts worldwide membership in excess of 1,000!

The clubhouse is situated within freehold land and has excellent amenities for players, spectators, and corporate guests. The clubhouse is one of the finest in Essex! The ground is bordered by a very well used road to the north, as well as a frequently populated footpath/cycleway to the south.

We operate in a county with many opportunities and a great community of thousands that will see your brand.

We have a flexible approach to sponsorship, we would welcome a discussion with you on how we can support your business objectives for the year ahead, which may include:

  • Maximising your target audience to generate additional sales leads.
  • Increasing your brand awareness within local/regional communities.
  • Building or enhancing your positive CSR position in the market.
  • Educating and promoting information about your products, services, and experiences.

Should any of these align with your commercial aims, or if you have any other ideas, please do get in touch.

We recognise that without the support of our sponsors many of our club members would not be enjoying their cricket at the weekend!

OCs Cricket Club has an array of sponsorship opportunities which can be tailored to meet your objectives. Through sponsorship, our club will promote your company in a wide variety of ways enriching the profile of your business in our community.

History of Our Club to the Current Day

OCs Cricket Club 1950 – Present

OCs Cricket Club has a long history, being one of the founder members of the T Rippon Mid-Essex Cricket (1975). In the last 10 years the club has been developed significantly, adding a consistent profile in youth cricket as well as expanding from 3 to 5 XIs playing league cricket, whilst also maintaining Women’s cricket and friendly cricket, so all abilities are catered for.

Today we play our senior cricket in the T Rippon Mid-Essex leagues, the 1st team have just gained promotion form Division 1 to the Premier Division, finishing as Champions in 2023. Indeed, 2023 was our most successful season to date with all 4 league XIs finishing no lower than 4th in their respective leagues, and 3 out of the 4 achieving promotion! Our membership has grown so much that we now have a 5th XI in the league, which will give even more opportunity to our younger members, and help membership grow further, with room for a minimum of 66 members to play competitive cricket every weekend!  The club also supports further friendly sides on Saturday and Sunday (more teams put out when availability is high), plus youth cricket for boys and girls, aged from 4 to 15.

The club plays its annual OCA Presidents match in July when they take on the 1st XI from the local Grammar school to which the club is affiliated, King Edward VI Grammar School (KEGS).

Throughout the club, OCs Cricket Clubs ideals reflect cricket’s core values, such as Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship. And recent market research has overwhelmingly shown that the club comes across as being warm and friendly, providing good quality cricket for all.

Whilst we are ambitious, we also have a strong family ethos, derived from a commitment to youth cricket for all age groups.

Aspirations

With membership rising, we have ambitious plans to develop the infrastructure at the club, to include enhancements to the facilities, equipment, and also the coaching to all teams. This will allow OCs Cricket Club to firstly become a more integral part of the local community and also a destination venue providing sports and leisure facilities to a much wider audience.

The club’s ambition is to build on the progression seen both on and off the pitch into the new season. We are aiming to backup recent promotions in the coming years and seek to grow both our player numbers and wider club membership.
