Moseley Cricket Club:

Scorer’s Cricket Ground on Streetsbrook Road in Shirley has been home to Moseley Cricket Club for over 50 years. The Club are one of the founders of the Birmingham and District Cricket League – the oldest cricket league in the world.

Moseley Cricket Club proactively seeks to promote and enable cricket for Girls and Women and would welcome new women members of all ages and abilities. Here’s a quote from Marie Kelly former captain of Warwickshire Ladies Cricket Team, “… Moseley Cricket Club has played a vital role in the development of women’s and girl’s cricket within Warwickshire…….”

The Cricket Club plays host throughout the season to various clubs and organisations including the Warwickshire County Cricket Club, Warwickshire Cricket Board,  Birmingham University Men and Ladies Cricket.

Today:

Moseley has enjoyed considerable success being past champions of the Birmingham and District Cricket League, Warwickshire Sunday League and Warwick Trophy, on numerous occasions.

The 1st XI plays in the Birmingham and District Premier Cricket League whilst the 2nd 3rd XI and 4th XI compete in the Warwickshire County Cricket League. 

We have a substantial thriving Junior Cricket section and the club is fully compliant with England and Wales Cricket Board standards and holds a current Club-Mark certificate. Teams from under 9 to under 17 play in a variety of competitions.

Aspiration:

The club is focused on increasing adult participation, community engagement, junior and womens' cricket development and improved facilities for our members, and visitors and upon forging close links with local business to assist in achieving our ambition to be a club for everyone. The recent announcement that Moseley Cricket Club has been chosen as a training venue for the womens cricket teams participating in the Commonwealth Games 2022 is testimony to our commitment to developing cricket and to improving playing and practice facilities. Commonwealth Games Cricket Manager Holly Colvin says, "Moseley Cricket Club was selected because the application was supported by the England and Wales Cricket Board ....investing significant funds in order to upgrade facilities to an international standard".
