About us:

Great Witchingham Cricket Club has been a long-standing part of the community since 1924. The club is home to senior mens, womens and youth cricket in Norfolk.

The 1st X1 play their cricket in the ECB East Anglian Premier League, one of the Premier cricket competitions in the UK, including teams from Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Essex. The 1st X1 are one of the top 3 club cricket sides in Norfolk, regularly competing for the EAPL title and in National competitions.

The 2nd X1 compete in Division 2  of the Norfolk Cricket Alliance and is a hotbed for future Norfolk cricketing stars. The club has always considered development of its cricketers to be the primary aim, and the 2nd X1 has been the starting point for a number of Norfolk players in recent times.

The newly formed GWCC Women's team for 2021 is incredibly exciting, and they will be competing in a number of local 'softball' fixtures this season, with the aim of progressing into a fully fledged side in the coming years.

The club also has a vibrant youth cricket section with teams from U9's to U19's. We are extremely proud of our youth section, having produced 6 Senior Norfolk players from our juniors in the last 5 years.

Throughout the summer we host extremely popular youth cricket coaching, with fully qualified ECB coaches, including an overseas professional. The emphasis is not just on the development of young cricketers but also developing them as individuals with life skills. We have seen how cricket can develop confidence and leadership through pride in learning new skills, overcoming challenges and working as a team.

The club's aim is to make a real difference to the community.
