About us:

Dating back to 1870, Southend Rugby Club is one of the oldest clubs in England with a long and proud history.

Southend Rugby Club is a dynamic organisation. With it's strong Senior teams, Junior academy, Ladies section and large membership, it is one of the clubs at the forefront of rugby in the South East.

Our objective is to give the residents of Southend and surrounding areas the opportunity to play rugby in a structured format at all levels.

Southend Rugby Club has a large following. We offer first class facilities and opportunities to all aspiring players in a safe environment and friendly atmosphere.

The modern club house offers a great venue to make any sporting event, business meeting or special occasion a successful one. On a match day the club regularly accommodates 140 people for a formal sit down meal and has a licence for 200 for parties. The club has a team of friendly and efficient bar and catering staff and is also happy to work with outside caterers.

The venue is regularly hired for Corporate days which includes the use of the club house and pitches.

We are rapidly approaching our 150th year and during the 19/20 and 20/21 seasons we intend to have numerous functions to celebrate this milestone. The Mayor and other celebrities will be attending a number of these and there will be significant press coverage throughout this period.
