About us:

Camberley Rugby Football Club

Hello and welcome to the official SNAP Sponsorship profile of Camberley RFC!

We are delighted to announce that we have now partnered with SNAP Sponsorship with the intention of securing commercial partnerships to support one of Surrey’s premier grassroots Rugby clubs. With our ambition, dedicated support and growing digital following we believe that we can offer considerable value to any organisation and are open to meet your business objectives whether that be through community gifting, social responsibility (CSR), direct sales or brand building.

We are dedicated to developing a lasting business association which will enhance your company exposure and provide essential assistance to our work within the community, removing barriers to make sport enjoyable, accessible and sustainable for all.

Why Sponsor Us?

Large digital following and community networking opportunities

Do you want to connect with an enhanced target audience? Camberley RFC has an extensive network which is structured through our numerous players and their families, supporters and volunteers. We’re a family-orientated social club which hosts various events throughout each season. We have over 1,200 members and a fast-growing social media presence with thousands of followers across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Camberley RFC has an array of sponsorship opportunities which can be tailored to meet your objectives. Through sponsorship, our club will promote your company in a wide variety of ways enriching the profile of your business in our community

Participation in team sports improves self-esteem, mental discipline and social skills

Camberley RFC make training and development fun. We encourage our players to support one another, and we celebrate everyone’s personal achievements. Although exercise and sport in general can have an incredible effect on people’s mental health and wellbeing, research has shown that there are more impactful mental health benefits from team sports. We are firm believers that team participation provides valuable life skills and lessons young people can learn including manners, respect and boundaries on and off the rugby field, practising persistence, meeting new friends and boosting confidence. Rugby truly can make a positive difference.

Remove economic barriers making sport affordable and accessible for all

Sponsorship of a grass roots sport delivers a much higher return on investment than traditional advertising. This is because sponsorship allows your business to become directly involved in activities that are highly valued by local consumers. Consumers are known to form strong positive associations with sponsors who support the development of grass roots sport and contribute to their local community. With eight out of ten consumers preferring to believe in what a company does rather than what it says, it’s easy to see why many businesses are choosing to sponsor clubs like ours as a way of maximising their marketing return. By directly supporting us, you’re helping to remove economic barriers — making sport affordable, accessible and inclusive for all.

The Club Today

Camberly RFC has experienced great success in recent years. In 2018 the 1st XV won the RFU Intermediate Cup at Twickenham and have since gone on to earn promotion to the Regional 1 South Central with the aim of National League status again for the 24/25 season. We believe that now is the perfect time to expand our commercial partnerships to unite the success we achieve on the field with the success of local businesses within our wider community.

Support from sponsors, generous donations and the time commitment of a host of volunteers, coaches and parents help us provide a safe, supportive and competitive environment for people of all age groups and genders to participate in rugby. Have you truly considered how your business could benefit from connecting with our thriving membership base of players, staff and supporters?

We are extremely proud of our ‘one club’ ethos. At CRFC you will witness our senior teams supporting our minis and junior sections and vice versa on a regular basis.  Furthermore, our current 1st XV head coach/player has directly overseen the development of our junior & senior academy, many of whom are now playing in our senior section. We take great pride in how our players, coaches, spectators and volunteers uphold the core values of rugby union, teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline and sportsmanship.

We're strongly committed to maintaining connections with the wider rugby community and often enjoy visits from England players with Camberley RFC being only a few miles from England Pennyhill Park base. We are closely associated with Harlequins RFC who send players to our mini & youth festivals handing out medals, and the England ladies make an appearance to promote women in rugby.

As a community club we maintain strong links with local schools and other community organisations. On two occasions we have won the Surrey Heath Sports Awards. We have also raised funds for several charitable organisations such as the Air Ambulance, Mind, MND and have strong links with Wooden Spoon.

Club History

The Club was founded in 1931. After the Second World War CRFC was re-formed for the 1947/8 season. Watchetts Recreation Ground has always been the home of the club and it's believed that it shared the distinction with Bath of being the only clubs in the National leagues that play its rugby on a public park when we were at National levels.

Prior to the commencement of the league structure in 1987 Camberley's greatest success on the field of play was the winning of the Surrey Cup in 1973. Our club was very successful in the very early days of the Leagues reaching the dizzy heights of National 2 (Level 3) within the first 10 years and, following normalisation when many other clubs caught up.

The club was also a founder member of the Thames Valley Mini and Junior group as one of the first in the region to introduce mini and junior rugby back in in 1973/4, they held their first tournament in 1975 and it remains today the largest single group within the club boasting a large membership of boys and girls ranging in age from 5 to 18. Colts rugby was introduced a couple of years earlier and it was at this time that the club's main strength as a family club became established.

Our women’s team were formed in the early nineties and in those early days were very successful in producing several leading players for county, area and England, it is good to see a former Camberley girl, Alex Matthews, playing for the Red Roses in the Women’s World Cup in New Zealand, and being named as the women’s World XV flanker. This enthusiasm has returned and we are pleased to see our girls and women’s section growing rapidly at Camberley.

Our Aspirations

With membership and crowd attendances rising we have ambitious plans to continue to grow and develop the infrastructure at the club.

Naturally, we want to support our sponsors and build them in to our club on a strategic level — allowing all our partners to benefit from our ever-improving facilities, expanding audience and our community involvement. Thank you for your time and consideration!
