About us:

Welcome to Woodham Mortimer Cricket Club

Situated in the picturesque Essex countryside WMCC has a proud history of providing Cricket to the local community since our establishment in 1809. The club is made up of numerous outdoor squads which includes two Saturday XI sides that compete within the T-Rippon Mid Essex Cricket League, one Sunday XI which participates in both friendly and Warsop Sunday League Cricket and one T20 XI that plays during mid-week fixtures. In addition to this WMCC also manages several indoor teams that contend in various competitions across both Chelmsford and Braintree.

Our journey with SNAP Sponsorship

Woodham Mortimer Cricket Club has come a long way since our partnership began with SNAP Sponsorship in 2021. The revenue raised through our funding endeavours has permitted the club to complete a wide range of tasks such as the obtainment of new ground equipment, improvements to playing facilities and the introduction of a coloured match day kit. These projects have significantly raised our profile both on and off of the pitch to help build awareness and connectivity to both our growing membership base and sponsors within the local community.

Future ambitions for WMCC

Though small in stature the club is no longer small in its mentality, identity and ambition for the future. This transition in our culture is a credit to the fantastic service provided by SNAP Sponsorship who have assisted the club in understanding our potential for growth and achievement. Going forward WMCC has two primary objectives. Firstly, to reform a Women’s Cricket section into the club to continue on our achievement of producing quality female players at county level. Secondly, to establish a youth system within the club to develop talent in a safe and supportive environment. We aim to become an organisation that can accommodate Cricket to every player regardless of age, ability or gender to promote our sport and secure our sustainable future for years to come.
