About us:

WEST MERSEA CRICKET CLUB

In (2021) we celebrated the 100th year that cricket as been played at its current location, The Glebe West Mersea, history says the Cricketing Mussetts - Mersea Cricket Club is allegedly one of the oldest established in the country. At one time the whole of the first team were Mussetts.

We believe sponsorship of our club will deliver value based on a marketing investment for financial return, CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility), or for the love of the club.

Whatever your motivation, find out more below. Thank you for visiting our profile.

WHY SPONSOR US?

As a successful, self-financing club, West Mersea Cricket Club's only source of income (other than holding fundraising events) is by relying on the generosity of local individuals and businesses to provide funding.  Providing quality opportunities and experiences for players, does come at a high cost to the club and, without these contributions, the club would not be able to exist in its current form or be able to achieve the goals it has set for itself in the medium to long term.

The club is not-for-profit and reinvests all monies raised back into the club for the good of the community.

Being part of the Two counties division and our links with Essex Cricket Club, means your marketing investment can be focussed to maximise value to your business.  With matches every Saturday throughout the summer we have lots of exposure with players from north Essex visiting.

The club has a flexible approach to sponsorship, with perks ranging from, but not limited to:

- company logo & link on social media posts and website's sponsors' page

- physical advertisement on club assets

- opportunities to advertise at club events

- invites to club events

We also have a Team in a T30 Sunday league.

We also have a 3rd team playing friendlies most weeks in the summer

We also have a ladies softball team (which in 2022 finished runners up in the whole county)

We have a large amount of juniors in our club with ages 4 - 18 and we run training sessions on Tuesday Evenings thorughout the summer months with a lot of junior games arranged with other local clubs.

Coach Education

We work with the Essex Cricket Board to provide coach education courses, we can offer courses in umpiring and scoring for anyone interested.

We have coaches from our club visiting local schools throughout north Essex ingaged in the Chance to Shine schools programe.

Charity Days

In recent years we have developed a tradition of staging 'Charity Days' and raising considerable sums of money for Charities, These have revolved around 6 a side and Fancy Dress cricket, and a Ladies day.

ASPIRATIONS

On the pitch - the club's ambitions is to build on previous success and continue to field 2 senior teams and a Sunday team which can progress up the league table;  as well as building on the success of the junior teams at ages U9, U11, U13 and U15.

Off the pitch - to build upon and foster stronger community links and local partnerships, with a view to offering "cricket for all", for future generations to join, support and enjoy for many, many years to come.
