Why Southend on Sea & EMT Cricket Club
About us:
About Us
Formerly Southend on Sea CC and Ekco Monarchs & Trojans CC, the clubs merged in 2010. We run four Saturday XIs all based in Southchurch Park which creates a great social atmosphere after the game.
We also have a friendly Sunday XI and an Evening League XI.
Our youth section offers cricket for all ages from 6 years old and offers a full progression path through the age groups to senior cricket.
Today
Over the last couple of years, we have been reinventing the way we run our club and feel we offer a different perspective to other local clubs.
Off the pitch, ware committing the community with a partnership to RunFree charity. We have also run a training sessions and games in association with other local charities.
On the pitch we are looking for innovative and exciting ideas to set ourselves apart which will help raise the profile of the club and make the cricket more accessible. For the 2021 season, we are committing to live stream our 1st XI home fixtures from Southchurch Park.
Aspirations
We are based in a highly populated area in Southend and our home ground sees a lot of visitors, both local and from outside the area, in summer. We want to further engage with the local community and visitors to the park. We want to increase the use of our pavilion outside of cricket and make visitors more welcome.
Our cricket section has seen some great success over the past five years but success hasn't brought sustainability which is what we want to return to. We want to ensure we're a sustainable and well run club which can provide a good cricketing environment and great facilities for our members.
