About us:

Sandhurst Cricket Club

Established in 1985 by locals, Sandhurst Cricket Club exists to provide the residents of Sandhurst and other local villages with the opportunity to play cricket. The club prides itself on being open to anyone who wants to try cricket from experienced 1st teamer to adults new to the game and we have big aspirations for the coming years.

Getting involved with ‘The Camels’ (as we are affectionately known thanks to our Sopwith the Camel inspired logo) as a sponsor will enable you to support true grass roots cricket in return for fantastic opportunities to grow your brand locally with a growing community sports club. Find out more about what we can offer you below:

Why Sponsor Us:

Sandhurst Cricket Club is a community sports club that relies on its membership base to maintain its financial viability. Our main sources of income are through membership fees, bar takings and fundraising events.

However, the club is growing rapidly both at senior and junior level and there are a number of long term capital and revenue projects that we wish to undertake to further enhance the player experience at the club and secure the long term future of the club. These include investing in our outdoor training facilities, purchasing a new electronic scoreboard and investing in paid coaching to help our playing membership develop their skills.

The club has a flexible approach to sponsorship, with benefits ranging including:

  • logo & link on social media posts and websites pages
  • physical advertisement on club assets
  • opportunities to advertise at club events
  • priority access to Surrey tickets through the club
  • captive audience of club members for exclusive business promotions
  • invites to club events

Alternative/supplementary perks can be arranged through negotiation dependent on the level of sponsor commitment

Whilst we are a small community club, we are committed to giving you and your company the exposure and promotion you deserve. Your support can really help to push The Camels onto the next level of its development!

Today:

Based in the Sandhurst Memorial Park, the club offers a range of playing opportunities to its 50 adult members. The Saturday sides (1st and 2nd XIs) compete in the Berkshire Cricket League with the 1st XI competing in the Premier League. On Sundays we play a range of friendly matches and managed to field 2 sides on several occasions in the slightly truncated 2020 season. During the week our T20 side complete in the popular Surrey Slam competition, playing in coloured kit in this format. Over the past 2 seasons we have recruited over 20 new adult members thanks to some fantastic social media marketing in the local area.

On the junior side we have been running the ECB All Stars Programme for the past 2 years with 34 members in 2020 taking part in an 8-week programme aimed at 5-8 year olds. Prior to the All Stars beginning there was no junior section at the club with a limited number U18s playing at the club.

We are fortunate to have our own pavilion and practice facilities and are beginning to build strong relationships with several local schools are we begin to build our junior section.

We are truly excited about the future of the club and believe it is a great time for sponsors to come on board as you will see below.

Aspirations:

On the field our aspirations are to compete at the top of our Saturday league cricket divisions having been promoted in 2019 to the Premier (1st XI) and Division 2 (2nd XI) and this means building on the recruitment work we have done in recent years. We intend to work with a paid coach moving forward who can continue to develop our players ready to help us compete at this level. On Sundays we want to continue to be able to field at least one (if not two) teams each weekend and we want to reach the knockout stages of the Surrey Slam in 2021 as well.

In the longer term we expect to create a 3rd XI on Saturdays as our senior membership continues to grow alongside the transition of our junior members into adult cricket.

On the junior side we plan over the next 5 years to create a sustainable junior section which ultimately feeds young players into the adult cricket sides from aged 13 onwards. In 5 years’ time we will be running junior cricket for at least 100 young people as we continue the All Stars programme as well as progressively starting up U9, U11 and U13 squads.

Our membership base currently stands at around 85 and with the plans mentioned above we aim to see that move towards something in the region of 175.

Off the field we plan to continue investing in the facilities required by the membership. This includes ensuring the playing surfaces are maintained and developed, updating the practice nets, investing in a new scoreboard, and continuing to ensure that the social facilities are modern and welcoming for our membership. With a prime location in the town we want to become a vibrant and welcoming cricket club that other towns in the area envy.
