About us:

Who Are We?

Feckenham Cricket  Club is a Worcestershire based cricket and social club that was formed in 1959; we have played at our Mill Lane ground since the land was purchased for the ground in the early 1960’s following extensive fundraising efforts by the members.

The club fields three Saturday senior teams in the Worcester County League, with the 1st XI playing in Division 1. we have a growing junior section, with seven teams from Under-9 to Under-14 with excellent volunteer coaches who have enabled five of our youngsters (girls and boys) to represent Worcestershire at different levels.

We also have a very popular ladies team - Feckenham Fillies - that plays soft-ball tournaments.

Why Sponsor Us?

The club is becoming a social and recreational centre for the area around Feckenham, with considerable footfall extending to Redditch and beyond. In addition to this, Feckenham First School use the ground on an annual basis for their Sports Day, bring many families with them. The club also provides the village with its annual Fireworks Night, with hundreds of locals in attendance.

With the club in discussions about installation of tennis courts, visitor and member numbers may grow significantly over the next 2-3 years.

The club is dealing with the impact of Covid while working hard to develop and improve the facilities provided to our members and guests.

Aspirations. The major project is to renovate or replace the ageing clubhouse, providing facilities to English Cricket Board standards while improving disabled facilities and access and a separate changing room for ladies. Alongside this the club wishes to provide a larger parking area, to accommodate the numbers attending matches as players and spectators.

Alongside this the club's practice facilities need improvement, A Permanent practice net is in a poor state of repair and dangerous to use and so the club is raising funds to provide a two-lane net with an artificial surface. This will benefit senior players but is most important for the development of our junior players.

The club was founded in 1959 by a group of villagers who raised money through a wide range of means including dances and bingo nights at the village hall. Eventually a 5-6 acres field at the foot of Mill Lane became available and was purchased. Much works was put in to drain the ground and prepare the ground for the game of cricket. A very basic pavilion was built, followed by toilets and changing rooms.

After a couple of years playing friendlies the club joined a league and the quality of cricket increased, attracting more players. Facilities were improved over the 1980s and 1990s, including the addition of a kitchen and a practice net..

In more recent times, the club has reached the top division in the Worcestershire League and the Mill Lane ground is seeing more matches than ever as the junior section has blossomed and more teams were formed.
