About us:

An Introduction to Barkston and Syston CC

Barkston and Syston Cricket Club is a friendly and sociable village Cricket Club, with a long history and significant ambitions for the future. Located in the beautiful village of Barkston, a stones throw north of Grantham, we pride ourself on our engagement with the wider community and seek to provide an inclusive, welcoming and engaging environment in which members can enjoy the wonderful sport of Cricket.

The club currently runs one Men’s senior team with 30 members, which competes in the Division Two of the Lincoln and District Sunday League, as well as providing an established All-Stars and Dynamos Junior Cricket set up. The Cricket Club itself enjoys close links with the Parish Council and other sports teams through joint management of our home ground. This means that any sponsorship with us will be seen across the wider Barkston and Syston community, as well as by visiting Cricket and Football teams. We are proactively growing our social media following and view this as a fundamentally important aspect of our ongoing engagement with the wider community.

Why Sponsor Us?

We are seeking sponsorship for three principle reasons:

Ground Development: We have a dedicated and committed membership who invest a great deal of time and effort (under the careful and discerning eye of our long standing Groundsman!) into ensuring that our home ground remains a fantastic place to enjoy a game of Cricket. We have recently acquired and self-constructed a new set of practice nets, which has been a fantastic effort on behalf of all of the members of the Club. We are seeking to build on this success by acquiring sight screens and roll on covers in order to further enhance the quality of our home ground. We view this as a key aim of our sponsorship engagement, as well as a significant opportunity for potential sponsors to gain visibility across the local community and the wider Lincolnshire Cricket establishment.

Junior Cricket: The provision of All-Stars and Dynamos cricket at Barkston and Syston is something of which we are all rightly proud. We believe the engagement with (and development of) youth Cricketers to be of paramount importance to both the long term future of the Club, as well as the wider well being of our local community. Additional sponsorship would allow even better provision within the existing Junior set up through the enablement of additional coaching qualifications for our dedicated volunteers and through the purchase of additional training equipment. It would also allow the club to explore the possibility of implementing competitive age-group teams, which would represent a fantastic point of growth for our Club and would further our ambition of providing accessible competitive sport within our wider community.

Senior Cricket: Our Sunday XI have always remained competitive within our league structure and we are seeking to protect and enhance that competitiveness, whilst also ensuring that we remain an inclusive, welcoming and engaging environment in which members can enjoy competitive Cricket. Partnerships with suitable sponsors will further this ambition, allowing our Club to remain competitive, inclusive and community orientated through the purchase of additional training equipment and ongoing facilities improvements.

We aim to ensure that Barkston and Syston Cricket Club remains an integral part of our local community and to ensure that we continue to provide an inclusive, welcoming and engaging environment through which people are able to enjoy competitive Cricket. In keeping with our sponsorship goals, we are seeking to maintain our community orientated approach whilst executing effectively against a programme of transformation aimed at further enhancing our ground and expanding our Junior section. We relish the opportunity to work with engaging sponsorship partners and look forward to hearing from you in the near future.
