Fred Short started playing bowls at the age of 13 and has played for 4 teams in his illustrious 57 years in the game.

Fred has represented his county at 4 levels - Armstrong, Alsop, Muras and Middleton. In addition, Fred has qualified for the national finals on 4 occasions.

Fred also gave his time back to the sport as a past Club President, club selector and in 2025 he has just joined the committee of St. George's Dragons bowling club.
