Jonathan "Jonny" Yorke

Born in 1992 in Bradford, Jonny Yorke is the club’s resident batting all‑rounder and current first‑team captain. Legend has it he was born with a bat in his hand (midwife not impressed) and hasn’t put it down since. Joining Muff Field CC in 2023, Jonny’s cricketing CV boasts winning the Bradford League U17s league title — a career highlight that he has definitely not brought up more than 50 times to teammates.

By day, Jonny is a Financial Assessment & Welfare Benefits Officer — which basically means he’s excellent at doing sums, unless it involves his own batting average. Off the pitch he can be found playing darts or dragging the family on ‘days out’ that somehow always end near a cricket ground. Pizza or curry is the fuel that powers him, though his teammates swear he’d play better if he didn’t have both in one sitting.
