Alan "Youngy" Broadbent
Born in 1989 in Bradford, Alan has been with the club since 1998 — yes, that’s before most of the junior players were even born. A veteran of Muff Field CC, Youngy started playing cricket at age nine and has collected more junior trophies than his mum’s mantelpiece can handle — including five cups and his first century at just 15.
When he’s not terrorising opposition bowlers, Alan can be found behind the wheel as a van driver, probably daydreaming about cricket. His hobbies? Cricket, cricket and, in case you didn’t catch it, more cricket. Favourite food is talatelli (yes, we know it’s tagliatelle, but don’t tell him) and steak. If cricket was edible, that would probably make the menu too.
