Why Peebles Rugby Club
About us:
Peebles Rugby Club (PRFC) has a proud tradition of playing rugby in the Scottish Borders. Since 1922 we have been providing sports and social activities to the wider Tweeddale community.
PRFC has a tradition of developing home grown talent, with approximately 80% of the current senior squad having come up through the club’s youth structure. The First XV currently compete in BT National League 2 of Scottish Rugby, with the 2nd XV playing in East Reserve League 1.
At Colts (under 18) level, the club competes in the Borders Semi Junior League.
A Rugby Academy was established in 2013, and is currently partly funded in a partnership with SportScotland. This takes in players that have demonstrated a commitment and talent to perform at a higher level. A programme of development that encompasses skills, conditioning and nutrition is provided to help this group develop their full potential.
The club also works in a partnership with Peebles High School / Scottish Borders Council and Scottish Rugby, in running the Peebles High School of Rugby, which delivers additional rugby activities at High School Level.
