Why Elmbridge Eagles
Elmbridge Eagles are unusual in the South East of England in being a Rugby League club that focuses purely on League rather than operating as an offshoot of a larger Rugby Union club. The club is based in the "golden triangle" of Elmbridge which is an area that is historically heavily union based.
The club has 2 pitches with ample parking and a clubhouse on long lease from Elmbridge Borough Council. This is located alongside the Waterloo - Claygate - Guildford railway line which offers decent advertising opportunities subject to appropriate planning consents. Funding is secured for a major palying field upgrade in 2018 with improved drainage, pitch raising and levelling. This will enable the grounds to be used for sports all year as currently the pitches are waterloggered during the winter months
The club has been very successful in London Rugby League competitions with numerous grand final apperances and victories at the U12, U13, U14, U16 age groups over the last few years. Youth teams are for boys but the primaries group for 7-11 year olds in a mix of girls and boys. Players have progressed to International as well as professional teams from Elmbridge Eagles.
The club prides itself on being fun, welcoming and friendly and making Rugby League accessable to all.
