About us:

About Us

Established in 1921, Slough Hockey Club is one of the most successful hockey clubs in England ever. For more than 30 years the women in particular have remained in the top flight, reguarly competing on the national and international stage.

Consisting of eight teams and 500+ players, it has an extensive history of winning major elite honours at National and European level. Throughout the decades many of the club players have represented their country at International levels, a theme that continues today.

At the Rio Olympics 2016 we had 5 Slough players in the gold medal winning, history making team.

Today the women's 1st team still play at National league level, with the men 1st team also taking their first step into xx league for season 21/22, just one below the men's national league.

The club's success today is due to the dedication of its members and supporters who all work tirelessly together as one big family to continue to grow the club as a central community to the Slough area whilst also aiming to attract the very best talent from around the South East of England.

This is supported by an ever-growing junior section that has strong local links with schools within the locality.

Our Audience:

Slough town has a population of nearly 150,000 with a near even split of men and women. The average age is 34 years old, significantly younger than the national average of 40. Just under 60% of residents were born in the UK and it's highest ethnicity group is Asian/Asian British at 43%, followed by White British at nearly 30%. This creates a rich cultural environment that welcomes members from all ages and backgrounds.

Our Facilities:

Based in Upton Court Park with links to the neighbouring cricket and rubgy clubs we have a large clubhouse and viewing stand that is set in 9 acres of the park and that overlooks the astropitch. It has all the usual amenties for players, spectators, media and corporate guests. We often host dinner functions as the clubhouse can cater for more than 60-100 people in an evening either for a sit-down meal or buffet style. Incidentally, it is also renowned for serving up one of the best curries in the area!
