Hermes Bridge of Don Youth Football Club
Hello and welcome to the official SNAP Sponsorship profile of Hermes Bridge of Don Youth FC.
We're delighted to announce that we’ve now partnered with SNAP Sponsorship and we’re looking for sponsors who are excited about affiliating themselves with a newly formed but ambitious and passionate youth football club in Aberdeenshire.
We’re an inclusive club that has been established with the intention of providing a pathway to bridge the gap for young players to progress from youth and development sections into junior and beyond.
We strive to craft a partnership with our sponsors that meets their specific objectives, whether that be community gifting, social responsibility (CSR), direct sales or brand building.
Whatever your motivation, find out more below. Thank you for visiting our profile.

The Club Today
Hermes Bridge of Don Youth were formed in 2021 with the goal of establishing a pathway for the local young players who have developed a love for the game and didn’t want to stop playing when their community football came to its natural end at the age of 18. Hermes is run by a group of volunteers who have one thing in common – passion and love for the beautiful game that they want to share with the local community.
Player pathway
The Hermes Youth player’s pathway to juniors (and beyond) has been established through Hermes having a 21s team in the Aberdeenshire Development League. We have also established a link with Newburgh Amateurs to bridge that gap between development and junior football.
This will give the players a springboard and platform to build upon the experience gained at youth level in order to push into the junior team. In our experience, most young players at 18 aren’t ready for junior football, hence the connection we now have with Newburgh Amateurs which will give the players some very valuable experience in the adult game.
Teams
Hermes Youth have seen rapid growth since our inception in 2021 and now have just under 300 players proudly wearing the black and blue stripes, our youngest players being our 6-year-olds.
Although originally started with a view to a pathway to junior football, it became apparent that the Committee all had a strong desire to ensure football was available to all and inclusivity is fundamental in our approach to football. Since forming in 2021, we are very proud to have a strong girls team and our Para Football section who are going from strength-to-strength.
At Hermes Bridge of Don Youth, we aim to provide an environment where our members can have fun, enjoy each session and fall in love with the beautiful game, all while learning our core values, where hard work, commitment, determination and respect are the very essence of the club. We look to channel their enthusiasm in a positive way, through encouragement, guidance and mentorship and challenge them mentally and physically in training and games to push them to be the best possible version of themselves.
All of our age groups are consistently monitored, accessed and encouraged by our fully qualified coaches, who provide analysis and grading to ensure we have all our players playing at the appropriate level, moving them up and down age groups/levels/leagues as required. We do not only grade on technical ability but on work ethic, attitude, attendance, teamwork and the ability to listen and interpret instructions amongst other things. We want all of our players at all levels to improve, be competitive and enjoy winning but not at all costs and in a fun, safe and positive environment. We intend to play football in the correct spirt, where ideas, creativity and mistakes on the pitch are encouraged. We believe progression occurs over years, not weeks or months and it’s something we strongly believe in as a club.
Development Section
Hermes Development Section comprises of two teams that compete in the Scottish Highland Football League’s Under 18 and 21s, respectively. These are both highly competitive leagues that see the region’s top players gain valuable playing experience at a high level all over the North East of Scotland.
The SHFL Under 18 East League gives top young players from under 15s to 18s, a chance to experience playing at a higher level, against a higher level of opposition, at the region’s top clubs with top facilities. We see it as a necessary part of the pathway we have created to help develop skills and characteristics for the next generation of players who have the ambition to play Junior, Highland League or above.
The GPH Builders Merchant Aberdeenshire League (Under 21s) is the progression from Under 18s to the adult game, and sees the region’s top talent pit their wits against each other in a very competitive environment. The optional inclusion of fielding four over age players ensures the young players get the right mentorship and guidance from playing with more experienced players, as well as the challenge of playing against them. The standard of player in this league is very high and this is a great way to challenge and develop the player both physically and mentally as well as installing them with our core values of work ethic, teamwork, consistency and commitment, to push them to be the best they can be on a football pitch, but also shape their own values in their life away from the pitch.
Hermes Development Section is self-funded, and we rely hugely on the generous sponsorship of local individuals and companies. The operating costs are high as we have match officials, match day kits, equipment and training gear to think about before we even kick a ball.
We are looking for new sponsors for our match day kits both home and away, as well as our training/warm up kit. These will be used for two years and we can guarantee extensive exposure across the north-east as well as on our social media platforms.
Our mission is to develop and nurture local talent for future progression to Junior, Highland League and professional football, to create opportunities for people to engage in football in a safe, inclusive and fun environment.
Vision
Our vision is to nurture, develop and encourage individual players, and create teams that can compete at the highest level within their own age groups.
Aspirations
With membership and crowd attendances rising, we have ambitious plans to continue to develop the infrastructure at the club and grow our teams.
Naturally, we want to support our sponsors and build them in to our club on a strategic level — allowing all of our partners to benefit from our ever-improving facilities, expanding audience and our community involvement.
