About us:

Dexter Sports FC

Dexter Sports FC C.I.C was founded in 1975 to provide an opportunity for youngsters in the Poole area to play football outside of school. Since then, we have grown to become a Charter Standard club offering football from ages 4 to 16, including Ability Counts and Walking Football teams.

Why sponsor us?

Dexter Sports was setup to give back to the community and provide football to young people in the area. The club offers football to players of all abilities and backgrounds and constantly progressing to provide football for as many players we can.

Currently with over 400 players registered we are aiming to continue our growth with new teams created each year. We currently have 26 teams and are looking at adding another 3 teams this summer.

In the past year we have created 6 new teams with 3 Under 7s Boys teams, 1 Under 8 Girls Team, 1 Mixed U11 Team and 1 Mixed Under 10s Team.

In the next 5 Years

Our aim as a club is to continue providing the best opportunity to offer development and enjoyment to our players.

Our aim is to provide football to over 500 youth players. This is a target we are well on the way towards.

We are also aiming to build a 3G training pitch to allow our teams to train all year round at Learoyd Road, Canford Heath. Offering this opportunity will allow our coaches to focus on development and our players to learn and thrive.

History of the club

Dexter Sports FC C.I.C was founded in 1975 to provide an opportunity for youngsters in the Poole area to play football outside of school. Since then, we have grown to become a Charter Standard club offering football from ages 4 to 16, including Ability Counts and Walking Football teams.

Our teams play in the Dorset Youth Football league (DYFL), Dorset Mini-Soccer League (DSML) as well Dorset Cup and Dorset Youth Football Cup competitions. The ethos at the Club is that of an extended family.  New members are made welcome, whatever their skill level, and the Club seeks to promote enjoyment of the game irrespective of natural ability.  The emphasis is one of self development, self discipline and fun rather than win at all costs.  To encourage this ethos, team managers actively promote the involvement of parents and use opportunities of social events to further their support for the Club and the young people within it.
