About us:

Barrhead Youth Football Club

We are a grassroots community football club based in Barrhead, East Renfresshire just 10 miles from Glasgow. The club was Established in 1972 and is affiliated with The Scottish Youth Football Association (SYFA) who are part of The Scottish Football Association (SFA).  Our efforts have been recognised with the award of the highest quality mark - The platinum (legacy) award.

In recent years the club have been commended on their efforts in making the club all inclusive and acessible to any child that wants to play. Our aim is to provide a safe and positive environment for members of the local community. We do not hold trials and instead welcome children regardless of ability. Our primary focus is long term development and to maintain a high level of participation throughout the teenage years and into adulthood.

The Club has a number of age groups, consisting of 23 teams from under 5's through to Amateurs supported by competing in various different leagues throughout the West of Scotland region. We currently have approximately 600 children (boys, girls & adults) who are supported by over 80 volunteer coaches.

Our aim is to create a fully inclusive  environment that will benefit the whole community. We have a team of dedicated volunteers giving up their spare time to help make this dream become a reaility.

We want to encourage and inspire more girls to participate, introduce an over 35s team and walking football.

As youth participation has steadily increased, expecially in our youngest age groups and in our girls section we have outgrown the capacity of our current facilities. As one of our main values is to keep kids active and help them grow in confidence, we are looking at improving our current facilities and sourcing other spaces to continue providing opportunities to play without turning anyone away.

We hope to provide further training opportunites for our coaching staff, to aide not only their self development but to also increase the level of support provided to our players.
