Introduction

Kingstonian Cricket Club (KCC) is ECB Clubmark accredited and is based in New Malden with its home ground at the scenic Kings College Sports Ground, Windsor Avenue. The club currently fields 5 league teams on Saturday with the 1st XI, 2nd XI, 3rd XI, 4th XI and 5th XI playing in the Surrey Championship. The club also fields friendly XIs on Saturday and Sunday as well as midweek and Sunday T20 teams. The club also runs a colts section of more than 100 juniors since its inception in 2016 and has grown year on year.

The club has over 100 adults and 100 colts within the local area so has a massive reach in the community. Sponsoring us would help your bring in additional business from our members as well as their friends and family. We are a friendly, sociable club with a huge focus on youth cricket, boys and girls from 5 to 16 (who then transition to adult cricket).

As a successful, self-financing club, Kingstonian Cricket Club's only source of income (other than members' subscriptions) is by relying on the generosity of local individuals and businesses to provide funding.  Providing quality opportunities and experiences for players, does come at a high cost to the club and, without these contributions, the club would not be able to exist in its current form or be able to achieve the goals it has set for itself in the medium to long term.

The club is not-for-profit and reinvests all monies raised back into the club for the good of the community, especially its junior section.  We need to ensure the future sustainability of the club and the ability to provide opportunities to play cricket to people of all ages and abilities for many years to come.

• physical advertisement on club assets like mobile covers
• opportunities to advertise as a matchday sponsor

Today

Our adult section has doubled in the past few years enabling us to field 6 teams on a Saturday and we even ventured out to 5 on a Sunday in the 2020 season. There is huge enthusiasm amongst the club and a great atmosphere with wonderful facilities to play on at both our grounds.

Our colts section was formed in 2016 and has grown year on year. All of our coaches are homegrown and are either parent or player volunteers. We boast 10 level 2 qualified coaches and a large cohort of volunteers who each put their all into helping the running of the club for the future of our youngsters.

Aspirations

On the pitch - the club's ambitions is to build on previous success and continue to field 5 senior teams, friendly weekend teams and T20 teams who play in the Surrey Slam as well as building on the success of our colts section which ranges from U5-U16 where we run All Stars and Dynamos Cricket. We have a vision of creating a strong girls section in the next 3 years and to increase participation with the help of Surrey and the ECB.

Off the pitch - to build upon and foster stronger community links and local partnerships, with a view to providing a fully inclusive club, offering "cricket for all", for future generations to join, support and enjoy for many, many years to come.

History

1989-present

The club was formed in 1989, initially under the name Pearl 1990, and was subsequently renamed to Kingstonian in 1995.

Geoff Phillips, one of the founding members of Kingstonian Cricket Club, led the way in creating the new club from the former Pearl Assurance club and negotiating with Kings College to keep the team at Windsor Avenue. Although he last played for the club in 2009, he continued to be the driving force behind the club, managing finances as the Club treasurer, holding numerous club offices and liaising with Kings College to allow the club to continue to use their ground. It was Geoff's drive, energy and enthusiasm that enabled the club to expand and to join the Surrey Fullers league. For many years, Geoff gave up his Saturday and Sunday afternoons to help at the cricket ground, including preparing teas for home games, manning the bar, even providing a taxi service to get players to and from games. These efforts helped the club save thousands of pounds which enabled the club to purchase items like mobile covers, a bowling machine and a portable cage. Geoff Phillips sadly passed away in November 2019
