New cricket ground in Kilnwood Vale to be the best new ground in Sussex
Sussex’s Community Cricket Foundation has begun an ambitious five-year Urban Plan to grow and develop the game in Crawley, one of the county’s cricket hotspots. It’s working with 12 Crawley-based clubs which represent the diverse population in the area.
The plan has been described as a ‘game changer’ in an area of the county where the demand for cricket is growing across all sections.
The first phase of the plan has already begun, with the planned installation of six new artificial pitches during 2022, which will initially also help to welcome back those Crawley clubs that have had to play home matches outside the town.
“Demand continues to grow across all areas of the game, whether it be boys, girls, men, women, those who have played for a long time or those new to game, those needing additional support or those able to play independently, whatever the individual circumstances of those wanting to enjoy the game, they will have the opportunity to do so in Crawley, at a club that's able to provide it for them.
“It will help create a much-needed boost to the infrastructure in Crawley to ensure this becomes a reality for years to come."
Taken from an article by Bruce Talbot, ECB Reporters Network.
As a club, we’re extremely excited by the possibilities our new ground and clubhouse will bring and as a sponsor, it’s an exciting time to be joining us, from early on, where there are already limitless opportunities for networking and increased brand awareness within our community.
Remove economic barriers help make cricket affordable and accessible to all
Sponsorship of a grassroots sport delivers a much higher return on investment than traditional advertising. This is because sponsorship allows your business to become directly involved in activities that are highly valued by local consumers.
Consumers are known to form strong positive associations with sponsors who support the development of grassroots sport and contribute to the local community. With eight out of ten consumers preferring to believe in what a company does rather than what it says, it’s easy to see why many businesses are choosing to sponsor cricket clubs like ours as a way of maximising their marketing return.
By directly supporting us, you’re helping to remove economic barriers — making sport affordable and inclusive for all.

Kilnwood Vale CC is a new club, based in the newly built Kilnwood Vale neighbourhood of Faygate, between the large towns of Horsham and Crawley. The club was founded in 2016 and joined the Sussex Cricket League in 2020, winning promotion in the first season.
The club accepts players of all abilities for teams which play in the Sussex Cricket League, the Sussex Junior Cricket Leagues and the Sussex Slam. In 2021, the club operated three teams, which has grown to six teams in 2022. The 1st XI won league promotion in only their first season of competitive cricket and will continue to grow in strength and experience.
With the club's new home ground and pavilion due for completion in 2024, there is opportunity for businesses to have their brands viewed by thousands of visitors to the ground each week as the club grows to its full structure of teams to cater for male and female players of all ages, offering cricket throughout the week and packed weekend schedules. In addition to on site engagement, the advances in social media and online streaming means that we already have overseas supporters signed up and watching our matches around Europe and Australia, which will continue to grow.
We have ambitious plans to continue to develop the infrastructure at the club and naturally, we want to support our sponsors and build them in to our club on a strategic level — allowing all of our partners to benefit from our ever-improving facilities, expanding audience and our community involvement.
