About us:

Bay Dragons CC was set up in 2016 by a group of friends who wanted to build a different type of cricket club.

We play competitively in the South East Wales Cricket League, as well as the Cardiff Midweek League and the Welsh Cup. Our First Team has been promoted every year since 2016, flying up the divisions.

Why Sponsor Us

Our rapidly evolving club brings huge sponsorship opportunities to businesses wanting high exposure. Our high footfall is a great benefit to any business, with our local authority ground seeing thousands of people daily, being centred in the heart of Cardiff.

We are open to negotiation for some of our sponsorship opportunities, particularly the Match Day Sponsorship opportunity, which we would love to tailor to suit your brands' needs - so please do not hesitate to contact us regarding this.

Today

We have several England & Wales Cricket Board trained coaches, and have reently acquired kit to allow us to train outside, which will further enhance our profile with the general public.

We have a strong social media presence including on Facebook and Twitter, and have begun to live-stream some of our more high-profile matches online. We are currently in the process of setting up a Youtube acccount, to document matches.

Aspirations

In the medium to long term, we aspire to grow the club to have it's own ground, which will then open up additional income streams. We also have strong aspirations to have a women's team, as there is growing interest in and emphasis on this area within the cricketing community. Currently, we have female club members who are key to the club but not a full team as of yet. We feel it is important to be an inclusive club.

Until then, we will continue to run events in local schools, 'Kwik Cricket' club days, and outreach sessions in the more deprived areas of Cardiff. We have donated our unused cricket teas to deserving people in the past, as well as running other community projects.

History

In our first and second year, our first team was promoted from it's SEWCL division. In Year 3, we set up a second team and both it and the first team were promoted from their respective divisions. We have also begun to plan for a youth team as our regular training sessions for youngsters has boomed. Our first team are still yet to drop a division, being promoted each year since formation in 2016.
