We are super excited for this Friday’s City lunch held by the Akuma Beavers in association with Shooting Star chase, at Brasserie Blanc.
Who are Akuma Beavers?
The team started as a social sevens side from the Guildford area, with many of the current players playing at Guildford RFC. With the exposure the Beavers now have, they are attracting players from up and down the country.
After their humble beginning eight years ago, the whole project went through a proper re-brand in 2016, resulting in a new team name and a strong social media presence as well as ambitious goals for 2017. A beaver was once a random club mascot and so the players decided to name their 7s team after this furry and busy little creature with big teeth.
The range of sponsors includes Meon Valley Travel, Elixium, Komo Guildford, Emerging Property, Finicky Shirts, SNAP Sponsorship and Physio 1-2-1. Additionally, the Beavers work alongside Shooting Star Chase which is their selected charity.

What is the Event?
This is the first city lunch for the Beavers and it’s in association with Shooting Star Chase Charity. City lunches are exciting events that enables everyone to have an great time through socialising and raising money for the Shooting Star Chase Charity.
The City Lunch is at Brasserie Blanc, London, where there will be a three course meal, drinks reception, auction and two ex-international guest speakers - Jason Leonard and Adam Jones. From SNAP’s experience these events are not to be missed as they are known for great food, auctions that are hilarious and a time for the audience to wind down ready for the weekend!
The purpose for this event is to raise funds and awareness for the Shooting Star Chase. Make sure you buy your ticket.

Shooting Star Chase
The charity provides care and support to babies and young people up to the age of 21. They support families from diagnosis to the end of life and throughout bereavement with a range of nursing, practical, emotional and medical care.
They support families living in London and Surrey, free of charge to families, and available 365 days a year. Their care is for the whole family, offering a bespoke service to suit each member’s individual needs.
