What's happening at SNAP? What are clubs and businesses achieving with sponsorship? More about the world of sponsorship.......

On Saturday 13th August Woodham Mortimer Cricket Club hosted Galleywood Cricket Club in the inaugural SNAP Sponsorship derby. It was the first time that two clubs, both on the SNAP platform, had competed against the other with Galleywood CC claiming victory on the day. After the game SNAP spoke with Nick Claydon, GCC’s Sponsorship Manager, to find out about his experience with the system and thoughts on how sponsorship had changed the club.

What are your thoughts on what SNAP is doing in grassroots sport?

“We’ve really got on board with local businesses.”

Galleywood have experienced considerable success since joining SNAP Sponsorship. However, why is this? The fundamental answer lies in the club’s ability to understand its potential. This is where SNAP begins the development process within grassroots sports clubs.

By recognising their commercial value GCC has approached sponsorship in a new manner. Business deals are no longer negotiated from a disadvantaged position. Instead the club, with the use of SNAP, offer a clear, concise and effective outline of what opportunities are available and what engagement they can facilitate to maximise exposure for their partners.

What impact has SNAP had on the club’s thinking towards sponsorship?

“SNAP help clubs get off the ground – we were nowhere with sponsorship 18 months ago!”

Sponsorship often feels unattainable for grassroots sports clubs. There are various reasons for this, however, one conclusion can be drawn towards the notion that many volunteers do not understand how to begin. This was a view shared by GCC before joining SNAP.

SNAP works with clubs to identify what issues require solutions. What ideas can be expanded upon. What approaches to take and how to open communication with your own business connections. SNAP help to lay the foundations so that clubs can grow and capitalise on their potential, regardless of sport, size or skill-level.

What has your SNAP profile enabled the club to achieve?

“SNAP has allowed us to publicise the club more which in turn has helped us gain some players.”

Every organisation depends on exposure. The more publicity you can generate the more your sponsorship opportunities will appear as a worthwhile investment towards business partners.

Yet sponsorship can also help to improve membership base numbers, as shown in GCC’s endeavours. By maximising their revenue GCC have been able to allocate funding towards various development projects. In turn this not only improves the club for current members, but also makes it a more attractive place to join for potential membership candidates. At SNAP we help our users to understand this, enabling clubs to advance both on and off the field.

What impact has SNAP and the sponsorship you have secured had on the club?

“We now have an area that is geared towards selling the club and selling its opportunities which really does help us.”

SNAP is specifically designed to simplify the sponsorship experience. Whether you are a grassroots club or thriving sports franchise the SNAP system is beneficial in numerous ways.

Businesses cannot engage with sponsorship opportunities unless they can clearly understand what they are investing in. GCC recognised this important aspect and opted to use the SNAP system to clearly outline what they could offer toward engagement within their local community connections. Within this digital age information must be both interactive and immediate. SNAP can facilitate both of those essential factors to generate success.

What are your thoughts on the Account Management service that SNAP offers?

“It’s a bit of a personal touch, having someone to talk to, to phone or jump on zoom with – its helpful.”

At SNAP we are firm believers in customer service and engagement. This is why each client is partnered with an individual Account Manager who are specialists in their field of sport.

This personal approach produces considerable results for our users. Our fully-qualified personnel have vast experience in the sponsorship sector which has built up an abundance of knowledge on how to achieve success. By having an Account Manager our clients always have a point of contact to direct queries, discuss ideas and formalise plans to ensure that our clients targets are consistently met.

Would you recommend SNAP to other clubs?

“Go and speak to SNAP. They will definitely help you.”

SNAP Sponsorship is built on the success that our clubs and organisations achieve. We have been extremely proud of the work that Galleywood Cricket Club have produced which has significantly aided their development, increased membership rates and directed them one step towards a sustainable future for their players and supporters. We look forward to continuing this exceptional partnership with the club to see what they can acomplish next.
